Indie Sci-Fi Survival Film ‘After Impact’ Trailer Starring Michiel Rensen

«The world ended. The waiting didn’t.» Freestyle Digital Media has debuted their official trailer for an indie survival thriller film titled After Impact, made by filmmaker Michiel Rensen who also stars in the lead role. Another post-apocalyptic survival thriller that of course reminds me of Deep Impact, also featuring a similar title, as well as last year’s Greenland 2: Migration. As society begins to unravel, Ethan grapples with personal betrayal, overwhelming loneliness, and the growing fear that survival may come at the cost of his humanity. Seeking refuge in his family’s bunker, Ethan endures the harsh aftermath of the impact, wrestling with physical injury and emotional despair. When a faint voice crackles over his radio, Ethan discovers he is not as alone as he believed. Starring Michiel Rensen, Maxie Ouyang, Will Clague, Riki Antonievich, Lee-Ann Dirks. After Impact is a haunting sci-fi thriller about isolation, endurance, and the fragile hope that someone else is still out there. This looks solid for an indie creation made entirely by just a few people.

After an asteroid strikes Earth, Ethan Nichols shelters in a bunker and struggles to survive until a voice on the radio gives him hope. When his father dies, he inherits one of the largest greenhouses. It should be the start of something. Instead, it arrives just as the world learns an asteroid is on a collision course with Earth — and as society begins to unravel, Ethan finds himself facing betrayal, isolation, and the creeping fear that surviving might cost him everything that makes him human. He retreats to his family’s bunker and waits out the impact. What comes after is worse: injury, silence, and the slow grind of days with no one to speak to. Ethan holds on, barely, as despair closes in. Then the radio crackles. A faint voice. And everything he believed about being alone comes undone. After Impact is written and directed by new indie filmmaker Michiel Rensen, making his feature directorial debut adapting his own mini-series of the same name. Co-directed & executive produced by Liam Carter. Produced by Michiel Rensen. It hasn’t premiered at any festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know.
